| | | John Sperry was born in 1956 in Kansas City Missouri and grew up in Kansas. He attended one year of junior college in Kansas and attended the University of Hawaii for a number of years but did not obtain a degree. He has lived in Georgia since 1988. His employment for the past 15 years has been in the insurance industry. John had been very unhappy in his job for years and he resigned in October 2000. He currently is working on selling his paintings and sculptures. John's only formal art training was ceramic classes in college. He recently became interested in art through friends and business associates. John labored over his first two paintings, but after that his paintings seemed to flow rather than being forced. In the first two months he sold almost everything he created. John feels very fortunate and blessed. He is represented by galleries in the South and the Outsiders.
Our Art Gallery also has work by Reverend Howard Finster, Inez Nathaniel Walker, William Edmondson, Thornton Dial, Missionary Mary Proctor, Miz Thang, Nancy Valelly, R A Miller, Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Mose Tolliver, folk pottery and all the great outsiders new or old.
