Frank Bramble has been painting for over thirty years. His work is in corporate, university and private collections across the country. He received his Masters Degree in painting from the University of Hartford, and has taught and been a guest lecturer and visiting artist at numerous schools and universities; most recently at the University of Connecticut.
Frank works both as a figurative and as an abstract and artist, allowing the discipline of each form to influence and develop the other.
"As an artist I am profoundly interested in the fugitive nature of the world around us. Things, people, the landscape are all in the grip of entropy. Today, landscape becomes elusive. It seems to drift away from us in the new century and becomes the stuff of memory and even dream. Indeed, art itself is subject to neglect and decay.
"With that in mind, my landscapes are vignettes that suggest both the experience of landscape and its lasting memory. They strive for a combination of immediacy and reverie, achieving that balance through painterly application."
Frank Bramble finds a compelling symbiosis in these twin approaches to art and art making.
