My childhood in post war America enabled me to witness the BIG BANG that created the culture of the Atomic age. The 50s spawned prosperity, the youth culture, blue jeans, the commercialization of happiness, monumental vulgarity, the fast lane, Rock 'n' Roll and most everything flowing through our veins today. I've been involved in music most of my life and that has been an influence on my work. I played my first paying gig when I was fourteen. In the early 60s my band the Refugees played numerous colleges and universities in New England and I was privileged to open up for such classic acts as the Shirelles, Roy Orbison, the Crystals and other pop acts of the time. In the mid/late 60s I worked with Gram Parsons the founder of Country Rock and Alt. Country. I worked and recorded in London with several bands in the 80s and am still blowing the sax or playing the bass now. My paintings and prints are lurid hieroglyphs, vignettes glimpsed along the reckless highway snaking through the space age.
