We are an Outsiders gallery and museum.our goal is to enlighten, teach, and help people build quality Outsider art collections.I have been fortunate enough to meet most of the top outsider artists and I am continuing to do so on an almost daily basis. The best Outsider and Visionary artists are to me masters of art even though they are untrained. When art is sincere and comes from a pure place within the artist it screams out at you no matter how raw and rough the materials used to make the piece are.
About twelve years ago I stumbled across Mose Tolliver's work, bright flat images painted on board.after reading about him I just had to dig deeper into the world of Outsider art. I found out about R.A. Miller a tent revival preacher from the south and all the clipped tin pieces preacher men, angels and devils. Jimmy Lee Sudduth was next with sweet mud paintings and raw pigment paintings on wood. Then I read the sometimes heart wrenching biographies mostly written by their close friends or part of their families.to make a long story very short, I'm totally hooked and have proceeded to get my family into the art, almost all of my friends, and the general public.
I have built up a network of artists and their friends that help me with the mission of helping people to open their minds, know that there is more to life and start to think outside the little square box.
The Museum part is a private collection of mine. There are over 80 pieces I've collected and studied about the people and have fallen in love with.not for sale and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
One more thing.they make you laugh, they can defiantly make you cry and they do bring people together.the first thing R.A. Miller said to me when I met him at the Atlanta Folk Fest this year, "come on by." Well, I want everyone to come on by, and.see the wonderful sites and enjoy yourselves.
